Salvation

Do you know God personally? This concept escapes so many people today. They go through their lives never knowing that God desires a close, personal relationship with them. However, we are the ones who must come to Him first. The Bible says that if we’ll draw near to God, He will draw near to us.

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. – James 4:8

God loves you so much. He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for you. He did this so you wouldn’t have to spend eternity separated from Him, but instead, you could live forever in Heaven.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting live. – John 3:16

This verse says “whosoever.” That includes you! God sent Jesus to die for you, and He wants to know you personally. But the choice is yours. You must decide whether you will accept Him and choose life, or reject Him and choose death. Ultimately, it’s a decision we all must make.

…I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore, choose life… - Deuteronomy 30:19

We encourage you to make the choice for life with God today. It is so simple. You don’t have to work for it. It’s a free gift from God because He loves you.

For by grace are you saved…it is the gift of God: Not of works…  - Ephesians 2:8-9

The Bible tells us clearly how we must be saved. We must believe that God raised Jesus from the dead, and say that with our mouths. If we’ll do this, we’ll be saved.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thy heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. – Romans 10:9

…whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. – Acts 2:21

There’s no better time to do this than right now. Simply bow your head to God and say this prayer. I encourage you to say it with me.

God in Heaven, I come to you in the mighty name of Jesus. I thank you for sending Jesus to die on the cross for my sin, sickness, weaknesses, and pains. I repent for my sins. I ask you to cleanse me. Wash me with the precious blood of Jesus, and make me clean. I receive that forgiveness and cleansing right now. Jesus, I believe you were raised from the dead, and I confess you as my Lord. Come into my heart and save me now. I thank you, Father God, that I am now re-born into your family. I am saved. Thank you for it. It’s in Jesus’ name that I pray. Amen

Congratulations! If you prayed that prayer from your heart, God has heard it, and you are saved. You are the newest member in God’s Family. The Bible says that all of Heaven is rejoicing and celebrating right now because of you. You are special to God, and he desires to cultivate this precious new relationship with you.

You’ll now want to find a good church that preaches the Word of God and obeys what the Bible says. Begin to fellowship with other Christians, and receive the love, teaching, and support from a church family. It’s important to get connected and stay connected to other believers. Get a Bible, and read it every day. (See Read the Bible in a Year) God’s Words are life to all who will find them.

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my saying. Let them not depart from thin eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. – Proverbs 4:20-22

If you have just prayed this prayer for the first time, or if you have re-dedicated your life back to God, we want to hear about it and celebrate with you. Please write us or email us and let us know.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

Once someone accepts Jesus as the Lord of their life, God has a very special gift to give them. It’s like a “Welcome to the Family” gift. It’s called the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. Now, don’t confuse this with the Holy Spirit who lives on the inside of you because you were born again. That’s certainly true! The Holy Spirit does live on the inside of you, if you’re born again. However, this is something different and very special.

If you have made Jesus your Lord, you have the Holy Spirit already living in you. Now, the Holy Spirit can come upon you. As we said, this is different and special. When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, He gives you extra power or ability to be a witness for Him.

But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me… - Acts 1:8

This is the whole reason for being baptized in the Holy Spirit – to be a better witness for God. How do you know if the Holy Spirit has come upon you? The Bible says you will speak with other tongues.

…and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. – Acts 2:3-4

When the Holy Spirit came on the disciples, they spoke with other tongues. This is a special language that is between you and God. The Bible tells us that when you speak or pray in other tongues you are speaking directly to God. It’s His language.

For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God… - 1 Corinthians 14:2

This is one of the greatest things about the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and speaking in other tongues – you can communicate directly with the Father. In addition, we are told that a building up, or a strengthening comes to our spirits when we pray in the Holy Spirit.

Building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. – Jude 1:20

God desires for you to have this gift. It’s yours for the receiving, just as your salvation was. But you must pray and ask God for it. God will never force anything on you. You must ask Him for the gift of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and to speak in other tongues. As you do this with an open heart of faith to receive it, you’ll begin to sense different sounds and syllables you may never have heard before. That’s the Holy Spirit giving you this magnificent language from God.

Don’t be shy or afraid of it. Speak those sounds and syllables out loud with your mouth. The Holy Spirit won’t do the talking for you, and He won’t force you to speak. He’ll supply the language. You have to supply the voice. God and man work together.

God is ready to give this gift to you, and the Holy Spirit is waiting. All you must do is receive the gift by faith. Pray this prayer out loud, and expect God to do what He said He would.

Father, I thank you for sending the Holy Spirit as a gift. I desire to be baptized in the Holy Spirit and speak with other tongues. Holy Spirit, fill me to overflowing with your power, and give me the utterance to speak. I determine to receive it, and I thank you for it, Father. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.

Now, open your mouth, and speak. Don’t be concerned if you don’t understand it, or if you think it doesn’t make sense. That doesn’t matter. God understands it. He has given you a beautiful new language.

We encourage you to continue growing and building up your spirit by praying in other tongues on a daily basis. Set aside a few minutes to be quiet before God, and thank Him for the Holy Spirit on your life. As you do this, begin to praise Him and pray in your new heavenly prayer language. Continue with this, and your life will never be the same!

Please let us know if you’ve received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. It is a magnificent gift from the Lord, and we would like to celebrate with you.

Prayer Request

It is a great privilege, as a believer, to pray and intercede for one another. The Bible lets us know that when we pray for each other, it helps to strengthen each other, and this pleases God. Sometimes, we need someone to join their faith with ours. There are great things that happen when people come together to agree in prayer to God. Matthew 18:19 speaks of this.

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. – Matthew 18:19

These are the words of Jesus. They are not just popular religious tradition. It is instruction from the Master Himself. Jesus said that when two or more people join together in faith, the Father would answer their prayer.

In Galatians 6:2, the Bible tells believers to:

Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. – Galatians 6:2

We are told again in James 5:16 to:

…pray one for another… - James 5:16

We believe in and are familiar with the power of prayer. We have consistently watched God move on behalf of people and meet their needs when they pray in faith. If you are believing God for something in your life and you would like us to agree with you in prayer, please let us know by clicking below, and we will join our faith with yours that God will meet your need in the right way, at the right time.
